Will of Samuel Tencher-Tincher....Recorded in book No. 1, page 43, Court House at Lewisburg, W.VA.
In the Name of God Amen, I Samuel Tincher of the County of Greenbrier, being of perfect memory and understanding, but remembering that it is appointed for all men once to die and that the time when it may please the Almighty to determine my existence in this life uncertain do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, hereby revoking and Disannulling all and every Will or Wills by me heretofore made, published or Declared.
IMPRIMIS. I give my Soul unto that Almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth there to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter to be named, nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection of the dead it will be raised by the mighty Power of God and with my Soul enjoy everlasting happiness thru the merits of Jesus Christ my redeemer; and as for what worldly goods it hath pleased God to bless me with, I bequeath and devise the same in manner and form following.
Viz:
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my Elder Son William Tincher all my books (except my Hymn book) together with all my wearing apparel, and also a moiety of that tract or parcel of land I purchased from my Son, Francis Tincher, lying in the aforesaid County of Greenbrier, being part of the tract or parcel of land whereon the said Francis now lives and adjoining the lands of Thomas Kinkead; to him and his heirs and assigns for Ever.
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Hannah the wife of Thomas Kinkead the other moiety of the aforesaid tract or parcel of land together with all my stocks of horses, cows, sheep and hogs, and my household furniture now in her husbands possession likewise all bonds, notes and debts due to me, to her, her heirs and assigns for Ever, provided always that she pay any Debts which I may owe at my decease.
ITEM: I give unto my Son, Francis Tincher the sum of five Shillings if demanded and no more.
ITEM: I hereby constitute and appoint Thomas Kinkead the Husband of my aforesaid Daughter Hannah the sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of March in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety.

At a Court held for Greenbrier of January 1791
This last Will and Testament of Sam'l Tincher dec'd was presented in Court, and on the motion of Tho. Kinkead the Executor therein named, who made oath according to law. Certificate is granted him for obtaining a profit thereof in due form, whereupon he has given security and acknowledged his bond with condition according to law.
