Wilson Cary Nicholas Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that in conformity with a Survey made the 12th day of November 1816 by virtue of an exchange warrant No. 1098 **** the 10th of December 1806 there is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Thomas Kincaid Senr a certain tract or parcel of land containing Forty two acres Situate in the County of Greenbrier on the waters of Muddy Creek Joining to the land of Charles Harra and his own land and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at a chesnut, black oak and dogwood sapling corner to said Harra thence with the same North Ten degrees East sixty eight poles to two white oaks and Gum by a road on said line thence leaving the same North seventy one degrees West thirteen poles to two white oaks in a hollow on said Harra's line thence with the same South fifty five degrees West One Hundred and twenty poles to two white oaks on a ridge, corner to his own land, thence with the same South fifty three degrees East ninety six poles to a white oak in a field, and thence North Twenty five degrees East fifty eight poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Thomas Kincaid Senr and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said Wilson C Nicholas Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the third day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen and of the Commonwealth the fortieth.
